BRISBANE: RBMA presents CDR and Info Session Q&A with Steve Spacek & Pursuit Grooves
Kerbside Bar (Constance St, Fortitude Valley), 6:30pm Thursday 31st March

In order to provide an insight into the inner workings of the Academy, Space Invada’s front man and long-time musical innovator Steve Spacek as well as forward-looking beat-maker, DJ and MC Pursuit Grooves will be leading a Q&A information session/lecture in the relaxed confines of Kerbside Bar on Thursday 31st of March, a week before the live show. Triple J’s Brisbane Hack reporter Alex Mann will be leading the interview. Casual drinks and nibbles will be provided courtesy of Red Bull. Capacity for the interview will be limited to 50 people.

Maintaining the quality from last year’s RBMA show featuring Tokimonsta, Illum Sphere and Martyn, the following week, Red Bull Music Academy presents ARIA nominated artists Space Invadas and nu-school vocalist, lyricist and beat maker, Pursuit Grooves (NYC) on Friday April 8th at Bar Soma in the Fortitude Valley.

The Red Bull Music Academy is touching down in Adelaide in early April for a huge show at Rocket Bar on Sat Apr 2 (headlined by Space Invadas and Pursuit Grooves), as well as a workshop and information session the following day at Botanic Bar.

The workshop’s guest will be Space Invada’s Steve Spacek and he will encourage the musical community of Adelaide to apply for the 2011 Academy, which will be held in Tokyo. Last year, Adelaide’s own Ross McHenry (The Transatlantics, Shaolin Afronauts) was selected for the Red Bull Music Academy in London and while participating in the Academy he attended lectures and workshops with contemporaries from around the world that were hosted by some of the most acclaimed musicians going around.

RBMA Presents Space Invadas and Pursuit Grooves will be held at Rocket Bar on Sat Apr 2 and will also feature Shaolin Afronauts, Dialect & Despair, Japeye and DL. Presale tickets are $15 or $20 on the door.

RBMA Info Session will be happening at Botanic Bar on Sun Apr 3 at Botanic Bar from 2pm to 4pm. Entry is free. To download the application form head to RBMA.
