CDR featuring MALA

CDR is back with a vengeance in 2011!! Following hot on the heels of the Red Bull Music Academy info session with James Pants, Sydney plays host to one of the most exciting sessions yet. Join the CDR crew THIS WEDNESDAY 6 APRIL when Lorna will be back on the CDR couch to get to the heart and soul of dub styles with the preeminent guru of dubstep – MALA!!

His DMZ imprint with Coki and Loefah stands as the blueprint for original dubstep while his Deep Medi cuts continue to keep the scene honest as commercialism infiltrates the once underground sound. As music producer, DJ and label manager, Mala embodies the true soul of dubstep. Anyone with a love of massive bass, deep sonics, reggae ideology and futuristic attitude NEEDS to be part of this knowledge sharing session.

And as always, CDR is nothing without YOUR music. Get those CDR’s burning (up to 3 tracks) and handed in by 9pm so we can showcase the best of what you have cooking in your studio right now. All styles welcome.

Also catch Mala and Coki in their Digital Mystikz guise Friday 8 April at Oxford Arts Factory. Tickets available via

Words can’t describe how excited we are that the king of deep dub styles, Mala, is heading back to Sydney and we couldn’t let the chance go by to get him on the CDR couch for an intimate beats and bass pow wow.  A guaranteed all killer no filler session. Don’t miss it!!

“As the boss of Deep Medi Musik and co-founder of DMZ, Mark Lawrence is one of the most respected men in the dubstep scene. In advance of his appearance at the Off Centre festival in Amsterdam, RA calls him up to chat 808s, dubplates and soundclashes.”
